Mafra!

So today, the Cyhers and myself were able to spend the day today with Martin, (who being one of the guys we hung out with in Sintra) in Mafra. We went to the National Palace there and took the tour. The tour was good in a learning sence, beacuse our tour guide only spoke Portuguse. The tour was also good in history sence in which we where able to learn a little more about Portugal's hisory.

Praise the Lord for today, becuase we were able to do this trip with Martin and also the friendship that is growing. As the friendship continues to grow, please pray that our lives will be a Godly witness to Martin and also to Dusan and Peter.
God Bless.

Martin

Class Canceled/means we have to hang out.

So I got to class tonight and found out that class was canceled due to the fact my techer is sick. So I found myself talking with some of my fellow classmates and ended up hanging out with one them at a local cafe. We both got to know each other little better, it was just a good time. The Lord really opened the door for that, and please pray for more opportunity like that. Thanks

About Saturday

Ok so on Saturday we had are picnic outreach, sadly to say no international students came but we still had the picnic and it became a good time of hanging out with one another and with other missionaries that were invited also.
But Saturday was just a crazy day. We ate some good food, and played some ultmate frez-bee. After the picnic, Emily and myself were headed off to a christian concert and found ourselves with the left over chicken from lunch. Realizing that I would not have time to drop it off at PBI before the concert, Emily and I could not find a way to get rid of the chicken. We would have even given the chicken to a homeless person, but the day you have something to give, theres no homeless person in sight. So it came clear to us that we had our dinner covered for the night but we still had a lot of chicken left over. I mean it was bad, people would look at us eating the chicken, and we would ask if they would like some and they would say no. No one wanted our chicken. But finally Emily was able to find a home for it with some the performers of the concert so but to get to that point was crazy. All in all the concert was good and we did get a good laugh about it so. All is good.

The Protest

So yesterday before going to class, I was hanging out with the Cyphers in Lisbon. We met at(Baxia Sheoto, old down town Lisbon) and got on a tram. While we were riding the tram, we heard people shouting and blowing whistles. Then the tram stop, thinking we were waiting a stop light for there were another trams cars in front of us. Well, the shouting and whistle blowing was still going on and realizing that we weren't at a stop light but finding out the there was protest march going on and it was going on right in front of us. Sticking my head out the window of the tram, I saw people marching with flags and shouting some stuff in Portuguese and of course blowing whistles. I had no idea what they where protesting but there was a lot them protesting. So here we are on the tram that is not moving, waiting it out to see when the protester will be done, when we decided to get off the tram and start walking to where we wanted to go because we wouldn't be getting on the tram. So I have to say that that was pretty interesting in seeing that yesterday.

Sintra!

On Friday, the GEM Interns (being Bobb and Bri Cypher, Heidi, and Lisa) and myself went to a town here in Portugal called Sintra. Also with us were three classmates( Dusan, Martin, and Peter) from Bobb and Bri's language class. We spent most the time checking out two of the historcal sites that are there in Sintra. The first place we went to was Castelo dos Mouros(The Moorish Castle). From there we got a good view of just not of Sintra but other cities from there as well.

Starting from the left: Dusan, Martin, Lisa, and Peter

The second place we went to was called Palacio da Pena(Palace of Pena). This palace was a sight to see because of the different colors that were on the outer walls of it. We had a good time that day, just looking around and getting to know Dusan, Martin, and Peter better.

Learning Portuguese/Just Having Fun!

Well just about two weeks ago I started taking language classes at one of the local universities here in Lisbon called Universidade Nova De Lisboa. So far it is going well, and on Thursday, a group of us met in front of the campus and spent some time in prayer. We gather to pray for the international students who are taking courses there and also for ministry opportunities towards them.

Me pointing to the University.

Also on Thursday we went to a park to check it out for an upcoming BBQ outreach that we want to in a couple weeks. While there, Bobb Cypher and I thought of just having fun and these photos below prove just that. The park is pretty big and I think it will serve well for the outreach.
