One Crazy Day

So today I went to Baixa Chiado to find a gift for Dan for the send-off party we are having tomorrow. Well, while there I was walking and looked up to see this huge Christmas tree made of metal covered with lights. I mean this was big. Soon after that a guy came up to me and started offering me some drugs. I want to say that was the only time today but it wasn't. In total I was offered drugs seven times from seven different men and said no about twenty times and yes zero times. During my time there, I met up with the Cyhers, and we hung out and did some shopping together. We even took an elevator ride in this elevator which was designed by the guy who studied under the guy who designed the Eiffel tower in Paris, France. Yeah I find that funny. Well after that, we went walking around again looking at some shops and after that decided to head to train/metro stop and go our seprate ways. Well on our way to the stop we found ourselves in yet another protest going down one of the main streets in that area. So it is safe to say that today was a crazy day.

Three Thankgivings, Man I'm Bless, and Full

Well this year I was able to be apart of three Thankgivings, one being on Saturday, Nov. 18, and two yesterday, Nov 23. For yesterday, I first had thankgiving lunch at the Landers home, with other missionaries here in Lisbon, Portugal. While being there at the Lander's I found out that my language class was canceled for that night so I decided to accepted the invite from the Cyphers to have Thanksgiving dinner at their place. It was cool because six of our classmates,(five from the Cyphers class, and one from mine, Heidi, and Lisa's class)came and had Thanksgiving with us. Just some real good times I tell ya. So that being said I ate a lot of food, man but it was so good. So good that I had to eat a piece of pumkin pie for breakfast this morning.

Thanksgiving Saturday

Yesterday, group of us had Thanksgiving at the Landers home. It was a time to have thanksgivng with the EDGE kids and with other friends as well. It was a great time, I had three servings plus three pieces of pie. Man I was full. I was thankful for the food, the people who were there, and the conversations I had that day. Please pray for two of the guest who came, Daniela and Unga. Daniela has been hanging out with us for a while now and she is going home to England on Wednesday. Some of the group might being seeing her one last time on Tuesday, so pray that that would be a good time. Unga, this was the second time I have met her and found out that she is going to be in Portugal a little bit longer for her studies. She really knows the EDGE kid but is starting to get to know the GEM Interns. Please pray that when the EDGE kids leave that we would still be in contact with Unga.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

So its November 19th, and Portugal has already been geting ready for Christmas. While being out this past Tuesday night, I saw some Christmas lights and lighted trees. Wednesday, I was in the supermarket and on the loud spearkers they were playing Christmas music(the songs were in English. I don't know, I kind of like that Portugal is already celebrating Christmas season. I even cought myself singing once or twice to the songs in the supermarket so. I am excited to see what the Lord is going to do this Christmas season here in Portugal. God Bless, and Merry Christmas!!!

Star Wars In Portugal

So Saturday was a cool day. Myself with my roommate Dan and Brad, who is a missionary and lives in the apartment that is above the Cyhers apartment, went to a Star Wars Exhibit in the mid afternoon on Saturday. It was awesome. They had real props from the movies, like one of the Yoda puppets that they used in the movies, costumes, some of the pod racers, a Naboo fighter, and more.
So we had a great day but what really made the day awesome was when we were leaving, we saw some guys dress-up as storm troopers, and so we were wondering if going Darth Vader was going to be there. So Brad goes up to one of the guys working there and ask if Darth Vader is going to come out. The guy goes "yeah Cliff just got off his lunch break." Sorry for those who thought that Darth Vader was Ankin Skywalker but his real name is Cliff. So we waited for Cliff, and then decide to go find Cliff and sure enough we found him and another storm trooper as well. So because we found Cliff we thought the only right thing to do is get our picture with him. with that being done we went back to the Cyhers and fun telling our story.
So Saturday was a really cool day.

What A Sheep Will Follow / A Random Thing

Yesterday as I was heading into Lisbon on the bus, the bus got caught into some traffic. While siting in the bus, I was looking out my window and saw a flock of sheeps and goats. What kept me still looking was that the flock was moving and was being lead by this black goat. I don't why I found that interesting, but then I started thinking about it and thought how we as Chirstian are considered as sheep. Also I thought of the passage in Matthew 25:31-46, where Jesus was talking about the final judgment and the whole separating the sheeps from the goats. Then I started thinking how we as sheep sometime are following goats that we shouldn't be following. I mean this is what happen of me just seeing a flock of sheep and goats being lead. I don't know, maybe it will spark someone who reads this to think about it even more. I know for me I have been thinking about it since yesterday and probably will thinking more about it as the days go on.
